our story
SOMA Collective began with a simple belief from our Founders: that the way we travel and stay should leave us feeling better, not just rested. They saw wellbeing, longevity and self-awareness becoming universal movements, and set out to create hospitality that honours them with intention rather than as an add-on. SOMA Collective was born from that vision, as a home for stays that support sleep, nourishment, stillness and a return to natural rhythm.
Franschhoek is where that vision first took shape. Set in the Cape Winelands, surrounded by mountains, vineyards and a living culture of craft, food and community, it offered the kind of place SOMA is built for. SOMA Franschhoek is the first property in the Collective, and the first WELL Designed hotel in Franschhoek. Every experience is rooted in its location, celebrating local people, produce and traditions, so that each stay feels deeply connected to the place and the pace of its surroundings.
